San Diego's ComicCon International is a fan Mecca, drawing more than a hundred-thousand people to the city every July for an orgy of geekdom. Amongst them are innumerable slashers - no, not the horror-movie variety, but rather those interested in homoerotic fanfiction.

This year we're trying out the Panda Inn. Last year's venue wasn't ideal, but hotel banquet rooms cost a not-so-small fortune. We should be getting our own section with a divider, and we'll head outside to the convience of the mall for extended chatting, raffling, and desert afterwards. As it does every year, the event will feature a lavish dinner reception, personilized badges, door-prizes, a swap-table, and a raffle.

Who: This event is hosted for slashers, by slashers! All slashers and slash-friendly folks are welcome - any fandom, pairing, etc. Worried you won't know anyone there? Don't - you're not alone! We're a friendly group and the whole point is to meet new people and have a fun. Many lasting friendships have been forged in the past from this event, and we have no doubt that this is a trend that will continue.

Location: This year we will be holding the event at Horton Plaza's Panda Inn, just a short walk from the convention center in the Westfield Horton Plaza Shopping Center.

Menu: Family-style Mandarin cuisine:

Salad: Chinese Chicken Salad
Appetizers: Vegetable Spring Rollls, Chinese Pork Pot Stickers
Entrees: Sweet and Pungent Shrimp, Cashew Chicken, Wok-Seared Mongolian Beef, Extraordinary Crispy Fish
Sides: Sauteed Mixed Vegetables, Assorted Lo-Mein Noodles, Rice
Drinks: Hot tea, water; soda and cocktails available
Desert: Ice cream sundaes!

While the menu is subject to minor changes, we will do our best to make sure their will be vegetarian options available. If you have any food concerns, please let us know!

Registration: Registration for the dinner is $25. This covers a full family-style meal at Panda Inn, including tons of food and tasty dessert. The cost also includes a customized badge and goodie-bag. Sponsor registrants will also be entered into a special raffle to win a yet-to-be determined fused-glass prize. Supporting/Non-Attending registrants will recieve a special mention and our undying love.

Swap Table: Last year's Swap Table was such a success we're bringing it back for this year! Bring all your neat fan-finds that you just don't have room for, or perhaps for fandoms you're just not that interested in any more, and let other fans take them home to love. Don't forget to have a look to see what others have brought that just might tickle your fancy in return. Zine, action figures, buttons, DVDs, the Swap Table welcomes it all!

Raffle: We will have a number of raffle items, more on that very soon! Everyone who comes gets a ticket!

Charity: We're operating on a hair-thin margin of cost, but every penny above our expenses will be donated to the AIDS Research Alliance.
