San Diego's ComicCon International is a fan Mecca, drawing more than a hundred-thousand people to the city every July for an orgy of geekdom. Amongst them are innumerable slashers - no, not the horror-movie variety, but rather those interested in homoerotic fanfiction. We thought, "hey, wouldn't it be nice to get together with some of them?" and lo, the Slashers Dinner was born.

This year we're back at the Panda Inn, which seemed to work out wonderfully last year. We will have our own, nearly-private section with a number of large round tables. Afterward we'll head outside to the convenience of the mall for extended chatting and dessert. As it does every year, the event will feature a tasty dinner reception, personalized badges, a swap-table, and a raffle.

Who: This event is hosted for slashers, by slashers! All slashers and slash-friendly folks are welcome - any fandom, pairing, etc. Worried you won't know anyone there? Don't - you're not alone! We're a friendly group and the whole point is to meet new people and have fun. Many lasting friendships have been forged in the past from this event, and we have no doubt the trend will continue.

Location: The dinner will be hosted at the Gaslamp's Panda Inn, just a short walk from the convention center in the Westfield Horton Plaza Shopping Center.

Menu: Family-style Mandarin cuisine -

Salad: Chinese Chicken Salad
Appetizers: Vegetable Spring Rollls, Chinese Pork Pot Stickers
Entrees: Sweet and Pungent Shrimp, Cashew Chicken, Wok-Seared Mongolian Beef, Extraordinary Crispy Fish
Sides: Sauteed Mixed Vegetables, Assorted Lo-Mein Noodles, Rice
Drinks: Hot tea, water; soda and cocktails available
Desert: Ice cream sundaes!

While the menu is subject to minor changes, we will do our best to make sure their will be vegetarian options available. If you have any food concerns, please let us know! We will likely order an extra vegetarian dish or two as well.

Registration: Registration for the dinner is $25. This covers a full family-style meal at Panda Inn, including tons of food, tasty dessert, and a customized badge. Sponsor memberships are available for $30, and Sponsors will be entered into a special raffle to win a yet-to-be determined prize. Supporting/Non-Attending registrants will recieve a special mention and our undying love.

Swap Table: Keeping up the successful tradition, we're happy to announce that the Swap Table is back for another year! Bring all your neat fan-finds that you just don't have room for, or perhaps schwag for fandoms you're just not interested in any more, and let other fans take them home to love. Don't forget to have a look to see what others have brought that just might tickle your fancy in return. Zines, action figures, books, art, buttons, DVDs, the Swap Table welcomes it all!

Raffle: We will have a number of raffle items available. Everyone who comes gets a ticket for the door prizes, with a special raffle for the donors.

Charity: We're operating on a hair-thin margin of cost, but every penny above our expenses will be donated to the AIDS Research Alliance.
